Welcome to Skelligs Retreat

We’re thrilled you’ve chosen to stay at our unique retreat on the breathtaking Kerry coast. To ensure your visit is as enjoyable as possible, we’ve outlined our terms and conditions. These cover your booking, our policies, and your responsibilities during your stay. Please take a moment to review them, as confirming your booking means you agree to these terms.

1. Booking & Payment

  • Deposit: For bookings made more than 90 days before your stay, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.
  • Balance: The remaining balance will be automatically charged 90 days before your arrival.
  • Full Payment: Bookings made within 90 days of arrival require full payment at the time of booking.
  • Payment Methods: We accept debit/credit cards and bank transfers only. Cash, cheques, or postal orders are not accepted.
  • Security Deposit: A security deposit equal to 10% of the total booking will be pre-authorized on your card two days before arrival. This will be refunded after your stay if no damages occur.

2. Guest Cancellations

  • Cancellations made more than 90 days before arrival are eligible for a 100% refund.
  • Cancellations made more than 60 days before arrival are eligible for a 50% refund.
  • No refunds are provided for cancellations made within 30 days of arrival.
  • Refunds to credit cards will incur a 2% processing fee.
  • Skelligs Retreat Cancellations:
    1. Accept alternative arrangements.
    2. Cancel and receive a full refund.

We recommend travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations.

3. Arrival & Departure

  • Check-In: 4:00 PM. Please confirm your arrival time with the Retreat Manager two days prior and we’ll be there to welcome you.
  • Check-Out: By 10:00 AM.
  • Early check-in and late check-out may be arranged upon request, subject to availability. Late check-outs may incur additional charges if not prior arranged with our Retreat Manager.
  • Key Collection: We’ll be there on your arrival to greet you. Should this be out of hours, we’ll send instructions prior to your arrival for key collection.

4. Guest Responsibilities

  • Occupancy: Only registered guests listed in your booking confirmation may stay. Day visitors must be approved in writing before arrival.
  • Behavior: Respect other guests, our staff, and neighboring properties. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in termination of your stay without refund.
  • Property Care: Treat the property as your own. Any damages, breakages, or loss of keys must be reported immediately and may be deducted from your security deposit.
  • Cleanliness: Please leave the property tidy. Excessive cleaning will incur additional charges.

5. Amenities & Activities

  • Facilities: Hot tubs, saunas, and other amenities must be used as instructed. Guests participate in activities at their own risk.
  • Health & Safety: Guests with medical conditions must disclose this before participating in activities. Written consent from a doctor may be required for certain experiences.
  • Farm & Coastal Environment: Be cautious of uneven terrain, livestock, wildlife, and changing weather.
  • Children under 18 must be supervised at all times.

6. Pets

  • Please contact us in advance if you wish to bring pets. Approval is required, and additional terms may apply.

7. Internet

  • Wireless internet is complimentary but subject to technical issues or coverage limitations. Usage must be lawful and reasonable.

8. Special Events & Retreat Programmes

  • Additional terms may apply to organised events and programmes. Please enquire when booking for further details.

9. Force Majeure

In rare cases of unavoidable events (e.g., natural disasters, extreme weather), we may need to cancel or alter bookings. In such instances, payments can be applied as credit for a future stay within 12 months.

10. Liability

  • Skelligs Retreat is not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage during your stay. Guests are responsible for their belongings and personal insurance.

11. General Policies

  • Smoking/Vaping: Not permitted inside the property and only in designated areas outside.
  • Candles: For fire safety, candles and tealights are not permitted unless part of one of our approved events.
  • Inspections & Maintenance: We may access the property during your stay for maintenance or emergencies, with minimal disruption.

12. Booking Amendments

  • Changes to your booking (e.g., dates) may be possible subject to availability. Price differences may also apply.

13. Special Offers

  • Special offers cannot be combined and apply to short-term stays only. Availability may be limited during peak periods.

14. Complaints

If an issue arises during your stay, please notify the Retreat Manager immediately to allow us to resolve any issues without delay.

15. Applicable Law

This agreement is governed by Irish law. Any disputes will be resolved in Irish courts.
